YMN TANKER Attended Intertanko Vetting Forum

On October 5, INTERTANKO held a Vetting Forum to provide a platform for Members to hold open and open discussions regarding the obstacles they experience with vetting-related topics. DPA / HSSEQ Manager, Captain Muhsin Demir represented YMN Tankers at the vetting forum.

In his introductory remarks, Stefanos Stylianos (Minerva Marine and Chairman of the Vetting Committee) provided a summary of the Vetting Committee's activity.

During the forum, it was emphasized that tanker vetting is a "ticket to trade," underlining the necessity of fair inspections and the need for continuous progress toward the industry's common objective of zero accidents. Also, an update on the development of the Seafarers' Practical Guide to SIRE 2.0 was provided.

Capt Noor Ismail Osman, MMSSB's Head of the Maritime Service Division, informed the audience on the structure of MMS, its history, and its vetting, screening, and clearance processes.

RightShip Singapore's Vetting & Inspections Superintendent, Capt Siva s/o Shanmugam, provided an update on the vetting process. He offered RightShip statistics as well as information about its Safety Score and Vetting Criteria.

The forum concluded with a lengthy Q&A session, which allowed Members to interact with presenters and other attendees.

We would like to express our gratitude to Mr. Tim Wilkins and Mr. Frans Ubaghs for the outstanding organization that has provided essential information on continuing concerns and strategies for the maritime industry.
